Join us and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) in the mission to end Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne MD is a progressive, neuromuscular disease affecting one in every 3,500 boys and there is no cure. On October 22, 2012 at just under 15 months old, Markie May was officially diagnosed with DMD. He has been given a life expectancy of around 25 years old. By age 12 he could be confined to a wheelchair. But we have hope, and PPMD believes the potential now exists to make a difference in the quality of life of the boys and young men with DMD. Parent Project leads the way to identify and aggressively fund the most promising near and long-term Duchenne research and cutting-edge technologies. Please support Markie’s Mission to find a cure. A cure is greatly needed to save Markie’s life and the lives of boys just like him.
Donations and Sponsorships can be made to support Markie’s medical expenses or to support Duchenne research. If you wish to donate to Markie’s Medical Trust, the donations are not tax-deductible. If you wish to donate to support Duchenne research, your donation to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy is tax deductible. PPMD is a 501c3 tax exempt organization.
